Just a quick note because this week is going to be a little off;
Wednesday is Christmas Eve, when a lot of folks celebrate with family or friends;
And Thursday is Christmas Day
Friday feels like it would be the kind of day where a lot of folks who didn’t get to spend their time with in laws, or who want extra time with visitors will spend it so…
So… I have a plan for Christmas Eve I hope to keep. It involves live music and a cold brew, because my quarter of no booze is up or so close that a few days on this side of it won’t matter
Especially since I wasn’t really trying to prove anything
I don’t need a test of Will as I have demonstrated it by doing a lot of things;
I’m not an alcoholic, so it’s not a behavior issue or a performance issue or any sort of issue that would make me say, drinking ain’t good for you.
Maybe I’m careful of drinking because I’m a lover drunk and when I feel warm and fuzzy, I start talking and smiling and giving that wink;
But for Christmas Eve, I might go to a local brew pub that’s having a girl play guitar on a stage
And the weather is supposed to be clear and warm
More spring than third day of winter
Be around people and merriment and making merry
Per the requirements of the season
Plus, I haven’t spent time around the decorations downtown so far this year
And a buzzy walk from brew pub to cross the river and back again seems like a good way to bur off three or four cold one’s
Maybe humming whatever ear worm this troubadour leaves behind
Maybe thinking about It’s 9AM and what to write next
Maybe thinking about The Shadowboxer Files, or Eldridge and Rip, or The Marshal of Magic,
Possibly wondering what Gumbo is up to, or LT and his wild bunch
Trying to think of almost anything else
Than the people missing from my life that night
