Wake me up when September ends, she said.
I think she was joking.
The kind of joke with a little truth behind it.
The kind of humor with a little ha chuckle.
Or a snort.
It is the weirdest of months, I think.
Like the Monday of months really.
Hated because it is the end of summer.
Shunned because it’s still too hot to be considered Fall.
The leaves haven’t changed, and woo hoo girls are promoting pumpkin spice like cocaine cowboys in 90’s Miami.
October is the proper Fall, and with it spooky thoughts of treats and tricks.
But we’re not there yet.
We’re still in the middle of the doldrums of this month.
This might help with fighting the blah.
Reading always works too.
So does watching something you like on television.
Or building your own side hustle.
Building something.
Because winter is coming, if I can quote the Starks.
Just not today.
