You guys know I like to experiment.
I tried a new podcast last week.
Making one not listening to it.
I called it DTF for direct to fans.
That's not what it means.
Not to anyone else.
It was one of the most downloaded podcasts on apple.
I got lots of messages.
Mostly from dudes.
Telling me they were too.
Dtf.
Not fans.
I should have been flattered.
But I don't fool around with no Oscar Mayer wieners.
I just quote Tone Loc at appropriate times.
Which would fit with the theme of DTF.
Wild thing.
Not the fan.
It just reinforces a theory I have about paying attention.
Some things people pay a lot of attention to.
Some things they skim and assume they know what you're talking about.
Which does not make for great communication.
But does absolutely make for great comedy.
I could probably make a whole series of comedic podcasts about a middle-aged dude turned rapper called M.A.D. who accidentally sings songs about situations and terms he doesn't quite understand.
But a rapper doesn't sing do they?
They just make up rhyme half the time and get paid a dime for every download that they get.
Which would be great at a million downloads.
Especially DTF.
Direct to fans.
