The internet wasn’t working this morning.
And I thought, “Oh, here we go.”
That’s how most people would find out about an EMP or something hitting the fan.
Their phone wouldn’t work.
Or the TV.
The lights were on though, and a car drove by out front, so I wasn’t too worried.
My personal DEF CON level stayed firmly at 3.
Just a quick plan to pick up a few more bags of beans from the store today.
To store away.
For rainy days or just in case.
I figured if something were to happen, this might be the week for it.
First Congress stalled on aid to Ukraine.
To which I object.
We did this in Iraq.
Blew it to hell and back, then send in the guys who blew it to hell to build it back up.
To the tune of hundreds of billions of dollars in “aid.”
Via defense contractors doing reconstruction.
And now billions more to defense contractors again.
Who will go in and rebuild Ukraine.
Again.
Meanwhile, Flint Michigan can’t get clean water.
Neither can Jackson Mississippi.
I don’t object to helping Ukraine.
In principle.
I just know that the US “helping” in Central America in the 80’s led to some atrocities we’re still paying for today.
There’s a long list of spots where we helped, with a design in mind.
Using taxpayer dollars to fund defense corporations with cash flow so they can make billions.
Which brings me to the internet this week.
First the “news” that Congress is stalled on an aid package, then the “leak” that Russia is putting Nukes in Space (which has been a capability since the 90’s (probably before that, I just read a briefing on it in that decade).
But the Threat Level was moved to midnight this week, with a leaky Congressman playing Chicken Little with the news cycle.
And scared folks are stupid folks.
Especially in a populace that doesn’t know what’s going on.
Our main source of knowing what’s going on is the internet.
So if it goes down, we get scared and we get stupid.
I thought the border “crisis” was the false flag operation of the Spring, but pushing us to the edge of a Nuclear Winter could make the groundhog wrong this year.
Except…
It all feels tired, and over played, and I kinda wonder when us stupid folks are going to get fed up with all the Bullshit being peddled and pushed.
I mean, sure, I buy beans and rice and keep them in jars for long term plans, but that’s just in case.
I have a jack in the trunk of my car, just in case I get a flat, and band aids in my cabinet just in case I cut my finger on something.
My list of just in case’s is long and hopefully encompassing.
I think a lot of people should be prepared for just in cases.
Like having paperback books in case the power goes out.
All of my books are going paperback wide over the next thirty days, so you can order some and put on your bookshelf.
And I’m working on books that won’t be finished until later this spring, and possibly starting one about this mess of a spring news cycle we’re experiencing.
So long as the internet keeps working, I’ll keep publishing them.
Just in case you want some more reading material.
On or offline.
