Have we had the magic bean water discussion yet?
I have spoken at length about the nectar of the gods.
That boiled concoction that helps me hang on.
Apologies to my parrotheads out there.
But which caveman back in the way back said, “Hmmm, if we burn these tree beans, smash them into a powder and pour boiling water over the mashie dirt, it makes magic…”
Because that guy was a genius.
Or woman.
I mean, I’ve seen the meme that talks about cavemen learning which mushrooms to eat and laughed.
“This one tastes like beef. This one killed Kevin. This one will make you see God for a week.”
Was it the same with coffee?
Here Kevin, try this crazy black water before you go on the mushroom hunt and tell us how you feel.
Be descriptive.
My favorite coffee is chicory or New Orleans blend.
Black as midnight in the desert and smooth as a NOLA sunset.
Plus, it’s got some extra oomph which kickstarts the brain machine, and that’s always a good day.
I always add some MCT to mine, either butter or coconut oil, for a little extra turbo.
It’s like knowing a magic spell passed down through time.
A magic that works, but like most spells, requires the proper ingredients.
Old Magic. Stolen Relics. To meet the Needs Must.
And creamer.
Just a smidge.
A good cup of joe let’s you establish a BEACHHEAD on the day.
A great cup of coffee makes a Bridgehead to success.
It’s 9AM goes great with a cup, or so I’m told.
Which makes me Touched and honored.
But…
I wouldn’t go so far as to suggest that absent coffee or It’s 9AM, you’d be As Good As Dead.
Probably best not to give it a try.
My morning cup puts a smile on my face, a pep in my step, and ideas.
Some of which I’ll share with you.

And I can tell you about what’s going on at 6th and Main in Pine Bluff.
Because if you ever thought of starting a business, that’s the place.
The idea behind it is to build a destination for people to come downtown.
It is a retail and culinary incubator, which means they bought the lot, built the building (are in the process) and selected 5 entrepreneurs to occupy the space.
Those small business owners are getting free rent, free marketing advice and counsel, free investment for start up and more.
The more is community support in the hopes it jump starts yet another attempted revival in a dead part of a dying town.
Once they made the announcement, my coffee fueled brain started working a plan.
And reminded me that I’m not taking my own advice.
Not when it comes to marketing my books.
Not when it comes to building the book business up to the next level.
Because literally, all it takes is 1000 fans buying one of 102 books a month to make a real difference in how this game is built.
It happened on Amazon.
And we’re growing in other spots, like Kobo, Apple and Barnes and Noble.
(and we’re sneaking back on Amazon)
But…
The hard part is finding the buyers.
Social media is free.
And I have been told to utilize the “everywhere all at once” strategy so many times, and seen it work so well, I wonder why I’m waiting.
Is it time?
Or not enough coffee?
Which is my exploration today, my to be done and thought about assignment.
The why.
Why I’m not doing something I know works-
Even as I:
Write 4k new words
Get in 3 miles outside
Reach out to 5 new vendors in the 6th Avenue Space
Upload more books to alternative sites to expand reach
Read 3 chapters in new JD KIRK book
Shoot video for Tik Tok, Youtube, Facebook, Instagram
Shoot video for a car dealer friend for his marketing
Ponder the pending month
Oh yeah, and follow my own advice about listing 10 items for $10 each on Craigslist so I can invest in ads on FB, and expand reach
And order another can of French Market Coffee
The magic is real.
