102 books.
I counted.
That’s how many books I’ve published since 2012.
Science Fiction.
Action Thriller.
Post Apocalyptic.
Urban Fantasy.
Westerns.
A few one offs that are hard to categorize because they blend genres.
I don’t have access to Amazon reporting anymore, so I can’t tell you how many I’ve sold.
Lots.
I can tell you I’ve given away thousands of free books though.
Lots to giveaway, especially book 1’s in series.
The idea behind it is pretty simple.
If you like book one and want some more, you’ll go into books two and three and however many more.
My best selling series also happen to be my longest ones.
Battlefield Z and Beachhead.
My best reviewed series was/is The Shadowboxer Files, but they don’t sell for some reason.
Or didn’t, when on Amazon.
We’ll see what happens in Kobo, Apple, Barne’s and Noble and through my own shops, especially since I’m not done telling Brill’s story yet.
Readers like you have really enjoyed the Urban Fantasy and I tend to get a lot of the same comments from reviews.
I wish it was longer.
I didn’t want it to end.
Same stuff I heard in my dating life.
But too much of a good thing is bad for your health, I bet.
A lot of what I do is try to find the magic.
What do I enjoy writing that people enjoy reading.
And will buy.
Because that’s the key, isn’t it.
Getting paid to do something you love.
Entertaining people with stories.
I want to do more of it going forward, and expand all of the storylines.
I think I have the plan.
Which means a few things for you.
More free stuff.
I mean, I don’t want to spoil you, because we’re in this awesome relationship together which makes me think you’re kinda special.
And special people deserve to be spoiled.
Part of the plan is more shorts on my website, which you can read for free, linked to a genre list of books I have published.
You’ve seen the like of it before.
When you go read that story, it tells that website it’s popular, which shows it to more people.
Sort of like you’re the Neilson ratings for what I’m writing.
So in the give and take world, you click the link to get the free story and more people get to see it.
The same with Youtube.
I know, I know, you don’t listen to audiobooks.
You like the feel of a big thick reader in your hand.
Plus, some of the books are robots, and your world isn’t ready for robots yet.
I get it.
I understand.
As people buy more books, I can invest in narrators and put their real life voices up.
I’m even reading a few of the shorts myself.
We’ll keep trying to find that right mix of what works, so you have the option to listen when you want, and read when you don’t.
Still, it helps when you click SUBSCRIBE so more people who do want to listen have that option.
So share the love.
The goal is to grow.
More. Better. Faster.
I’m shooting to get 1% better every day on how I write, what I write and the stories we share.
I’m working to get 1% better every day on connecting with everyone on It’s 9AM.
1% on audio, and on video, and on finishing projects that are half done.
I’ve got targets for sales, metrics for reads, hopes and dreams for what it might become and what milestones we need to hit to get there.
Strap in.
It’s going to be a wild ride.
PS. I sent the following out yesterday to some folks who just joined via Bookfunnel, but I think you deserve the same great treatment.
Check it out and when you get it, I’ll email you so you can pick the series you want, not just Shadowboxer.
Hey it’s Chris,
Thanks for grabbing Conscripted off of bookfunnel. I hope you’ve had a chance to enjoy it.
If you liked Brill Wingfield and his action packed adventures, I’ve got a deal for you.
It’s a Friday/Saturday only deal so grab it now.
I’ll send you Render AND Operative, the next two books in the series, for only $1.
That’s right, 2 books for $1.
That saves you $5 off the regular price.
Because it’s hot outside and you can stay inside to drink something cold and read.
But hurry, because you can only grab it today and tomorrow.
Cheers,
Chris
