It is Christmas and birthdays all wrapped in one.
A trip to the west bracketed by tournaments.
And a day of work sandwiched in between.
Not a lot of time to relax because vacation days are packed with to do's.
Even down time is full of competitions and games.
Volleyball. Catch. Fooseball. Ping Pong and Shuffleboard.
All around the pool.
All under portable propane patio heaters because June Gloom is chilly.
It feels like little enough time for thinking and creating because so much is packed in a short window.
Except…
We went to Petco Park for a game.
It is the number one ball park in America if you believe the hype.
Which is easy to believe.
95 micro breweries inside.
Over 100 restaurants.
A dog park and kids area and a ton of little things to make the visit better.
Like every seat angled toward home plate instead of staring straight ahead.
To ease neck strain.
A baseball museum and a ballclub hall of fame so you show up early for more to do.
And with the exception of Jack in the Box and one other place, every food and drink offering inside the gates is local.
Including a few park only businesses.
It is a great idea and one to steal for any big venue operations.
Use local talent.
I ve got more to share with you but today is an early start.
Let me leave you with a shot or two of the kind of busy torture we have had to endure.
But…
What has been your favorite vacation?
My pool photo got featured on google.
