Sharing is hard.
Sharing real truth is even harder.
What is real truth?
Especially when there are more than two people involved in a situation.
Their view of the truth creates conflict.
Take my car, for instance.
In January, I had a paid off, used, simple Sedan.
No monthly payments, low insurance because the car was ten years old.
Nothing flashy.
But Les and #10 didn’t want to use that car.
They didn’t like it.
Too low to the ground for them to feel safe.
Too old for them to consider reliable.
And after much debate, and lecturing, I gave the car to Les as a down payment on a used mini-van.
The mini was to be used for travel ball, going to games, and the few times a week I had to run around town.
We drove it to KY. To MS. To Kansas City twice and Baton Rogue. Down to Shreveport. Over to Jackson.
The van did what it was supposed to do.
Kept us up off the road, gave us plenty of room and saddled me with a $400 a month payment, plus $200 in added insurance.
They were happy, even if I was less than satisfied, and that’s the nature of relationships, right?
One person gets a lot of out it, while the other just gives.
A month ago, life got flipped turned upside down and very long story short-
I don’t have a paid off car or a van I’m paying for.
Which leaves me once again, without a ride.
Fine.
I’ve been here before.
That’s why God made my legs stronger than 90% of everyone else.
I can get to where the getting needs to be.
I did it in Florida.
Biked until I got paid enough to buy a truck.
Drove a shitty truck until I saved enough for a nicer used SUV.
Got my first Chevy and ratcheted it up to 250,000 miles with zero problems.
Hell, it almost went as far as my Ford.
Which proves a point: if you take care of something, it can last almost forever.
And highlights a counterpoint; if you ignore the red flags in a relationship because you want to, it won’t.
This brings us to the opportunity.
Coffee and Cojones
I have talked before about being a simple man with simple needs.
A few years of really roughing it made me like that.
I also have a mind that won’t stop, and a knack for planning, so I can come up with a bunch of plans and a bunch of options.
This can lead to paralysis analysis sometimes because I want to jump in the right direction.
That’s because I’m trying to calculate what’s going to be the best ROI on my time, my effort, and help me get closer to the goal.
The goal being 30 days to make enough cash to:
Buy a truck
Put a down payment on a fixer house
Get material for the fixer house to make it livable for winter
AND
Make it safe for stuff and sleeping.
So a lot of the stuff I’ve suggested to you and myself in the past gets put into action.
I’ve got a number in mind for a decent used truck, and the DP.
(if you giggled at dp, we’re probably joke buddies connected in a way that only certain minds do)
Down Payment, silly.
Now I’m curious, because I have a number in my head, and how to reach that number.
But what number do you have in mind?
What do you think the goal should be to reach those objectives?
And in your mind, is it possible to make it in 30 Days?
Let me know what you think in the comments. Don’t be afraid to share your numbers or thoughts.
Even if I might borrow them if I think they are better than mine.
One of the ways to reach the goal is for 1000 of you go to watch this 40 second video!
I mean, you can spare one minute to help a brother out, right?
Everyone on this free daily should click PLAY on that 40 second clip
