It's 9AM
More through fear than wonder.
That’s how they sell you “things” you don’t need.
I am as much a victim as you.
More so, maybe.
I believe in dreams and unseen things, boogie men and bigfeet, which may or may not be the plural of bigfoot.
A trademarked name by a defunct internet company that one can no longer use without permission.
I believe in being an outlaw more than that, so F**k them.
I’ll say Bigfoot and Bigfeet and Boogyman and Boobs and opinions from the cheap seats be damned.
I got an email today telling me it was over.
That the stock market was going to plummet.
There would be blood in the streets, and bread lines and millions of jobs gone away.
Right after that, I got an email telling me it was over.
That the crypto market was going to crash.
There would be blood in the streets, and millions of Gen Z headed back to low wage jobs.
And shortly following, I got an email letting me know it was over.
The Real Estate market was poised to plummet.
There would be families in the street and millions of homes would flood the market, killing trillions in wealth.
Not one email telling me it was going to be a good day.
Not one email reminding me, you woke up alive. You have food in the fridge. Two legs that work. A mind, while maybe broken, or at least a little off kilter, still manages to make it through the day.
A few good friends. A warm bed for sleeping.
Nobody wants to be my lucky penny, but I can be my own four leaf clover.
It’s not quite a million little things, but they all add up to not such a bad day.
Quite a good day, in fact.
And it’s only 9:00 AM.
Why are they trying to make me so scared about stocks, and crypto and houses?
I turned on the news and they told me a guy got killed. That Omicron was shutting down New York and Broadway was going dark again.
Doom.
Gloom.
And worry.
They are not talking about shipping shortages anymore, because talk of inflation has taken over!
You’ll pay more for it all, and won’t have money to do it because of the economy, stupid!
Except gas prices have dropped a dime in the last week.
Which gives people a few more bucks back in their pocket when filling up.
A few bucks that go to Amazon, or Wal Mart or some other store.
Which posts record profits in 4Q 21, which makes that particular stock go up, or at least stay the same.
It’s tough when bad news runs right up against reality and you realize it’s not bad.
Not that bad, at least.
Will the markets crash?
They did before. I’ve been through three I think.
Know what they did right after?
Go to all new highs.
We could use a good housing market crash to bring prices back to reasonable levels so more people could buy.
I just don’t want people to be put on the street for it.
It’s easy to say be not afraid.
Harder to act on it if you don’t know where you’re going to sleep.
But for one thing.
Action.
Action creates energy that fear cannot control.
A hustle to make side money so the banks can’t come calling.
A hustle that won’t fall with stocks or crypto.
Enough to buy gas and food if they job stops because all the executives took the bail out money for their bonus instead of covering payroll.
Yes, that really happened.
Which hustle is up to you.
Read a book. Meditate. Then plan.
For me, it’s the author biz. It has to grow. Add Audiobooks for a few dollars more, new covers to invigorate old titles. Move the paperbacks into other platforms.
Invest in some advertising, which takes money too.
How to make that money?
How do you make money to grow your side hustle?
How do you hustle to pay for your hustle when you’re living hand to mouth?
It’s hard to be afraid when you hustle.
Or maybe it’s just okay to be afraid, so long as you’re doing something about it.
The first thing to do is Get After It.
The second is easy.
Keep Going.

There are rarely good news nowadays on TV, or other platforms.
Listening/watching news once a day is more than enough, and no news on Sundays, my self applied norm. Lol.
