I guess I’m in good company.

Not you lot of amazing individuals.

That’s a given.

No, I’m up there with Nora Roberts, Ray Bradbury, Mark Twain and even VC Andrews.

I’m on the list.

I’ve made the grade.

I have been banned.

Banned by Amazon.

Book bannings are nothing new.

Nazi’s did it.

The Moral Majority did it.

Moms Against Liberty is doing it.

Or is it Moms For Liberty or Moms for Freedom or Moms Against Freedom.

They haven’t risen to the rank of Meme yet, and let’s face it, their acronym of choice doesn’t quite roll off the tongue.

No matter which way you spell it, I’m not sure if you can equate banning books with freedom.

I mean, there are thousands of books published each week, and most people don’t read any of them.

It’s like banning something that doesn’t really exist.

MAF or MAL or MFF or MFL say they are trying to protect children by keeping certain books away from them.

Which brings the books to the kid’s attention and makes them want to read it.

I grew up reading Stephen King, the aforementioned VC Andrews and a hundred other authors from my Dad’s bookshelves.

I read Zane Gray and Louis Lamoure and Conan and Tarzan.

Pulp fiction packed with half naked and whole naked and suggestively naked men, women and consenting adults.

Who knows if I grew up fine with it?

I know a lot of adults who proudly say they never read a book past high school.

Which to me means we shouldn’t be discouraging anyone from reading anything at any age, lest we convince them that reading is bad.

MILF’s for Liberty might just be fundraising though.

Dark money for dark politics.

Something that does deserve to be banned.

If you ban a book, you get attention, and attention means more donations.

I know being banned by Amazon isn’t doing me any favors.

My appeal is in process, but the process of going wide feels a lot like starting over.

Building an audience on new platforms, lining up promotions with new rules, new steps and new procedures.

And I’m fine with it.

Because it means spreading my eggs across a few baskets.

I just wish the MILF’s and MM would line up and picket and get news crews and press releases to let the world know for me.

Not Nazi’s though.

Because Nazi’s can go suck some of those eggs.
