Thirty days has September.
It’s like a refrain in my brain.
A reminder of how we learned practical things back in the day.
Rote memorization.
Every Good Boy Does Fine.
April. June. And November.
For me, the once a Quarter intermission in thirty one day months is an opportunity.
Because 30 Days is the perfect time to start something new.
A new habit.
A new challenge.
A renewed effort at getting good or better.
I’ve done push up challenges and running streaks.
I’ve done writing sprints and reading binges.
I’ve even done one once where I vowed to make at least a little side hustle money every single day for a month, just to prove I could do it.
And now September is upon us.
Bearing down like the forerunner of Fall.
For us, it means temps back in the 90’s, which is a refresh from the last two weeks of “feels like 113.”
Because if it feels like 113, it is 113.
It sounds like the difference between “the water is boiling” or “the water feels like it’s boiling.”
Not much of one at all.
So what challenge are we planning and practicing for this next thirty day month?
I was thinking about a new audiobook every day.
I was thinking about a new story every day.
Then I landed on what I probably should end up doing.
A new chapter every day.
For thirty days.
In three books that are halfway done in three series.
Each that could use about ten chapters to finish them off.
That would be a good challenge.
Back it up with something physical, like the run streak again.
Three miles a day.
And something to stimulate or build the mind.
A brand new article per day, all geared toward learning one thing new.
I think that covers the three basic food groups, right?
Creativity.
Physical strength.
Mental strength.
I could add a financial component by listing 1 item in shopify, etsy, or payhip each day.
Or add one promo/marketing tactic each day to promote those same.
Maybe add writing a new letter per day to someone who is trying to make a difference and helping.
Though that requires some mental strength, and may take time from the chapter writing.
Which is a habit and trick I need to work on most.
Focus for 30 days.
Focus on clarity.
Focus on Getting After It.
Focus on Getting Shit Done.
Maybe that’s the secret of the 30 Day Builder.
Just enough time to focus and get it right.
And maybe learn something you can carry forward into the rest of the time.
