I’m not a type E personality.
Sometimes, I wish I was.
More of a detail person.
Except, I like being the big idea man.
I like being the one who says, “We’re gonna build a colony on Mars.”
Then find the experts who can do it.
Put the team together and turn them loose.
I could spend time lamenting that I’m not good at organization.
Or I could create a new project, put a team on it, and get out of their way so they can make it happen.
Which seems a better way to get more done.

But it also means I’ve got a lot of balls in the air.
A lot of irons in the fire.
A buddy of mine called it organized chaos.
He also juggles a lot of projects, almost a hundred.
He said he did it because if 90% of them fell through, he’s still got 10 successful projects happening.
And that makes him a lot of money.
Also, he succeeds with about 50% of them, sometimes more, and as each project pulls through, he replaces it with another.
Amazing.
But you have to be able to concentrate in chaos.
Be ready to answer a thousand questions and switch gears fast.
Which means he is in a constant state of education.
Of learning and knowing.
Just like me.
I patterned myself after that.
Sure, I like to sit in silence sometimes and just be.
I like to go for walks and only listen to the wind in the trees, but that’s how I deal with the barrage of chaotic demands on my brain.
There is clarity in sunshine.
I also practice idea making.
I sit down and write 10 ideas each and every day.
Sometimes, it’s how to advertise my product for a better ROI.
Sometimes, I write out a whole new product line.
Or ideas for existing products.
I write about industries I’m not in, but would like to be.
I store ideas about markets in my community, and other people’s product.
The more ideas I can come up with, the better my brain is at working during the chaos.
And the more projects I put in the air, the more opportunity I can create for growth.
