It's 9AM
Someone sent me a quote that made me stop and think.
That’s the purpose of a good quote.
To make you think.
To remind you.
To even make you wonder.
The quote was;
“Be the kind of person that makes other people want to up their game.”
It gave me pause.
Because I wondered.
Am I?
What am I doing right now that makes people want to be or do or act just a little bit better than before?
I see biz guys talking about hockey sticks, which look really good on charts
But…
Most of the big success stories come from a cumulative effect of little things done daily.
Or weekly.
There is no timeline but your own.
Or mine.
And I’ve discussed my timeline a lot.
How it’s not fast enough or how I want more.
Getting teams together to implement ideas GET AFTER IT more.
Way back when I was in Corporate, we called it “Mo-Bettah-Fastah!”
More.
Better.
Faster.
Which is also what I like the ladies to whisper in my ear, if you know what I’m saying.
Totally said that with an Austin Powers accent.
I try not to punish myself with the list.
I’ve got a lot more to do.
I try not to be too harsh of a critic.
If I can get 1% better every day.
On something.
If I concentrate on that, then faster can happen.
Because one of my old mentors always told me, “Slow is smooth and smooth is fast.”
He meant building muscle memory when he said it, but it applies to almost anything.
Practice slow to get smooth, then keep practicing until smooth is second nature.
The Jazz of Getting Shit Done.
Mo-Bettah-Fastah.
And if no one wants to be inspired by what you are doing, what you choose to do, then do what I do.
Take a look at that gorgeous face in the mirror and be the person who inspires yourself to up your game.
