Mow.
Clip.
Trim.
Clean and blow clear.
Weekly landscaping and manscaping.
Scrape and shave and lather.
Rinse and repeat.
The routines we get into that make us look and feel who we are.
Or who we were meant to be.
The yard folks get to look at as they drive by.
And the parts no one gets to see unless they are lucky.
Except the face, which is what we’re talking about.
Geez, get your mind out of the gutter.
Which is where I blow the trimmings.
From the yard, not other spots.
Some suggest bagging, but I always wondered why.
It degrades naturally, so what I don’t catch and compost, goes by the wayside for the wind to carry away.
I’ve got the timing down, but not the music I like to play on headphones while I do it.
I’ve got the wave down too for every neighbor that drives past.
A routine.
Then it’s inside for a spritz and more cleaning, before sitting down to work on the BHAG’s we discussed before.
The story du jour, as it were.
If you will.
Music plays then, softer in the background, more noise than anything.
It seems like every part of the plan, from housework to yardwork to the real work of sitting with fingers ready, routines just help.
Maybe it’s habit.
Pour the coffee, or water or beer, and stand and deliver.
If I’m working the standing desk.
Or sit and ponder, if I’m in the game room using the desk.
Pondering is sometimes the fun part.
There are those who say they like the “have written” part.
For me, it’s the actual work of it.
The doing.
I hate thinking about mowing.
Doing it is okay.
I hate thinking about doing dishes.
Doing it is okay.
The same with telling stories, or building audio or planning stages.
The doing is the most fun part for me.
The have done isn’t.
Because I know how long this road goes, and there’s still a lot of doing left to be done.
Like the yard.
Or the bushes around the tree, that once trimmed, make it loom larger.
The oak out front.

I have noticed that a lot of the books in the stores and the ones online. Another words, the ebooks the cover is mostly blue or pink, black or brown. And I mentioned in this because of the cover that you showed on this book you have above why is there never a yellow or a green cover just that have anything to do with the type setting or making sure that it sticks out if it's put on a shelf. I was just curious. I've seen some covers that the background is white which is okay but I have found that most of those I usually pass over for some reason or another and don't even pick the pickup book up and look into it. Just mildly curious
